Who do you turn to?
By Dhirashanta Das
As we make our way down life so dusty road
We’re obliged to carry such a heavy load
We might carry on not knowing why this has to be
But if we don’t inquire we might lose priority
Everyone is trying in so many different ways
To extricate themselves from this complicated maze
Some people try to cover up and escape reality
But they’ve got to face the music and they’ve got to pay the fee
Who do you turn to when the going gets too rough
Who do you turn to when it’s getting really tough
Who do you turn to when you think you’ve had enough
The answer doesn’t come riding on a puff
So turn to the one who’s the master of creation
Turn to the one who can give you liberation
He is called Mukunda for He’s the champion of the free
And His kind of freedom can be enjoyed eternally
Freedom does not mean that you can do just what you will
And then you do all nonsense while daddy pays the bill
God is not like people think some baker in the sky
Who gives you bread no matter what until the day you die
This human form of life is now that long awaited change
To make our way back home and join the Lord’s eternal dance
So those who really want what lies beyond all space and time
Will take the golden road that leads to happiness sublime
Who do you turn to when the going gets too rough
Who do you turn to when it’s getting really tough
Who do you turn to when you think you’ve had enough
The answer doesn’t come riding on a puff
So turn to the one who’s the master of creation
Turn to the one who can give you liberation
He is called Mukunda for He’s the champion of the free
And His kind of freedom can be enjoyed eternally
